True North Pioneering, Inc. was established in 2002 by Shannon Mulligan and Rob Yontz as result of our own internal evaluation of what mattered most to us and what type of legacy we wanted to leave. The product of our self-evaluation was the defining of, and acting on, a strong desire to improve the physical and mental quality of life for ourselves and share that means with others through health and fitness knowledge and conditioning.
We each have enjoyed great success in our respective careers prior to this endeavor -Shannon in the hospitality field as Director of Catering & Convention Services; Rob in manufacturing and operations a Project Manager and Reliability Engineer. However, like many other "employees", we felt unfulfilled and lacking in purpose. Ultimately, we determined that we were dissatisfied because of the lack of congruency between our internal values and beliefs and those for whom we were performing.

We defined what mattered most to us individually and from where we derived our most satisfaction. It is from this effort that the concept evolved which founded True North Pioneering, Incorporated. In 2003 we each stepped away from successful careers and opened True North Fitness & Health and Stretch-n-Grow of Ventura County as the businesses to teach and lay foundations to individuals in healthy lifestyles and exercise science. Since then, based on many client requests and our mentored guidance, we have expanded our business to offering additional services and products such as; the best available nutritional supplements, air and water purification resources, and Ventura's first -and ONLY -Women's Adventure Fitness Boot Camps!!
We will continue to expand our line of products and services as we evolve into your one stop resource for the best natural, healthful solutions to today's industrial, sedentary, quasi-toxic lifestyle.

Living healthy is a lifestyle choice; living unhealthily is a lifestyle choice. There are a myriad of ever changing conditions that effect our personal health. Good "health" is a matter of mind, body and environment operating in harmony. When these facets of life are in harmony, there is a synergistic effect, a congruence; when one feels healthier they think and act healthier; and when one begins to think healthier, they begin to act and feel healthier.
At True North Fitness & Health we believe life is a series of choices and the consequences deriving from acting, or not acting, on those choices. To be successful choosing to live healthy requires a plan of action to address all the key contributors toward being a wholistic (whole + holistic) healthy individual.
Every day each of us makes what appears to be simple decisions throughout the day, but the truth of the matter is that these decisions have an impact on the rest of our lives. This means every day, throughout the day, we are given the opportunity for a fresh start, the chance to select a brand new gateway to alter the path of our lives and the influence we have on the lives of those around us.
Any day you choose, whether its tomorrow, next week, next New Year's Day, or TODAY, you can start the process of life change. The first step begins with this recognition and the absolute conviction of choice or desire for something different. The next step is the realization that you need expert guidance to ensure you achieve this goal. The process becomes real and owned once you take action on the first step of an action plan to get where you want to be.

We offer competitively priced program packages for individuals, couples, families, and work groups. Why go elsewhere and pay more for less? (Many personal trainers only offer exercise program packages and do not provide nutrition guidance. One will not work without the other, they are complementary. We offer custom-built Exercise, Nutrition, and combination programs to fit your goals, skills, and budget. We work with you to define your needs and then we custom build a program for you!)
We believe in client VALUE and word of mouth advertising! So we provide all the tools for your success in one package. We also work with you and your life schedule to help assure success. Health is a lifestyle, but real life imposes many demands that can challenge a fixed structure schedule. A well laid out plan prepares our clients for life's little curve balls.
