YOUTH FITNESS COACH / ASST COACH

Position Description:
A Stretch-n-Grow coach provides active instruction to preschoolers in basic physical education [Physiological Movement, Fitness Principles, and Physical Health]. A coach follows our pre-planned curriculum and teaches classes at child care facilities within Ventura County. Classes usually consist of 10 - 15 three, four and five-year olds. A class lasts for 45 minutes where 30 minutes is exercise, 10 minutes is a lesson plan, and 5 is fun and closeout activity. All teaching material and equipment is provided to the coach.
This position is part-time with most classes occurring between 9 am to noon and 3 to 5 PM on weekdays.
Responsibilities:
A Stretch-n-Grow coach successfully supports our mission through the following:
- Show up on time for all classes and meetings
- Administer class: attendance, communication forms, and guest program
- Appropriately control and communicate with the "stars" (kids)
- Demonstrate and show enthusiasm
- Be flexible and accommodate changes
- Develop rapport with stars, directors and teachers
- Adequately prepare for classes
- Communicate often, openly, and in advance with owners and Lead Coach
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Reliable transportation
- A love for children
- Group instruction experience
- Appropriate fitness level and experience
- Qualified applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal background check
- Be certified or be willing to certify as First Responder CPR and Pediatric First Aid
